R&D Technician

Job Description

To start with, the position of Sensory Technician sits into the Consumer & Sensory Science Team within the R&D Department. An incredible diverse team that helps each other learn, grow and develop. And as a Sensory Technician you will be asked to plan and run regular sensory tests for the tasting panel to support category projects, and you will also take part in the organization of events such as training programs for associates. For this, we don’t just need you to be a knowledgeable professional but also strongly rely on your interpersonal skills as well as your drive for success. Know that you’ll have a crucial role in creating and protecting the impact we look for in our value chain. With this said we like you to take responsibility over the following tasks:

  • Plans, create testing programs and executes tastings with guidance from a Specialist
  • Analyses results and provides reports to Specialists or Managers in the team (training on software provided)
  • Support other sensory panel activities (samples preparation, panel screening, training, performance monitoring)
  • Responsible for operating and maintaining simple equipment, laboratory consumables, update standard operational procedures
  • Help with the upgrading/improving, planning & organization of trainings and events
  • Support the execution of trainings, workshops or facility visits

Important: this position is mostly lab-based in our site in Utrecht and may require occasional travels to Joure.
